8 Steps to Session Success!

Here is how our one-on-one sessions usually run.

Intro:

We start by reintroducing ourselves to your child and building that relationship, adding a touch of gratitude to keep things positive. Check for any injuries, then show them the focus games we're playing today and see if they're interested in any custom prizes.

1

Engaging Game:

The engaging game is for the child to enjoy, get active, and start with an easy, fun way to harness some focus and start excersizing.

2

Warm-up:

The warm-up is designed to raise their core temperature, increase their heart rate and up the energy and focus available.
The warm-up is created with the upcoming workout and games in mind. so they can get the most out of the session with a minimal risk of injury.

3

Regather:

The regather, or fall-in, command is reinforced as part of the reward system to help keep the child engaged, listening and enjoying the session.

4

Solo Strength Activity:

Movements on their own. Based around improving skill, or strength in movement which will take focus and still follow the theme of engagement.

5

Tiring Activity:

Here we use up any excess energy while promoting focus through exercise. This in turn increases dopamine and norepinephrine.
This can be done as a race with me or their buddy, or against the clock.
This portion of the session is designed to "use up enough energy to boost endorphins and fun but not create fatigue in students."

6

Fun Game:

Fun is my number 1, any last bit of energy is  invested in laughing and smiling.
This part is also designed to keep the child's attention and engagement and has a theme of fun.

7

Mindfulness:

A mindfulness activity is intended to encourage a sense of calm and self-awareness. There are lots of different practices for mindfulness however we use 3 different levels of mindfullness technqiues depending on the child.
